BELIEVE THAT YOU CANNES!!!!

REWIND TO JUST OVER A WEEK AGO: MY BOSS SENDS ME THIS ARTICLE:

Campaign has partnered with GoDaddy, the world's largest cloud platform provider dedicated to small, independent ventures, to launch a competition offering five women in the creative technology space the opportunity to attend the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

I ENTER - NEVER ACTUALLY BELIEVING I WILL BE PICKED:

I enter my submission of 300 words about me, my job, my life and my passions, never thinking I would ever win.

Cannes is for the elite, the big cheeses, le grande fromage..

THEN YESTERDAY - OH F**K:

They picked me. Of all the entries and all the amazing creative women in the industry, they picked lil old ME.

Bowled over, excited, shocked, nervous, baffled, feeling a bit sick.

Then my husband and boss had the same reaction. F**k that's amazing. And then the sinking realisation of "oh shit Lolly is going away all next week how are we gonna sort out work/child/life" with 5 days notice.

Some amazing work from my husband, rallying the troups to arrange childcare and clear his schedule.

You'll be hearing and seeing lots more from me, from Cannes next week!! Meanwhile here's a shit Photoshop comp.

WE'VE BEEN NOMINATED FOR A CANNES LION!

Say whaaaaaaaa?

Contagious have tipped us as a contender for a Cannes Lion this year for the GIFFEELINGS Project that we have been working on for Dominos over the past year.

Very exciting stuff! We are keeping our fingers crossed!

CREATIVITY'S FEMALE FUTURE

Last week I had the absolute honour of being listed in Campaign as one of the 30 Future Leaders in the industry.

Can you spot my face? Twice? I think the pink hair headshot threw them off so Campaign put me in the headshot collage twice.

It's an unbelievable honour to be put on a list with such incredible women.

Thanks to Creative Equals and all the judges!

SHELL FACEBOOK CANVAS

Facebook Canvas's are kind of the new guy on the block. All our clients want them, and we are trying to push the Creative to make something really dynamic and interesting from this Facebook tool. Here's one we created for Shell Motorsports. Pretty cool I think.

DIGITAL DOODLE

I thought i'd have a go at doing a freehand digital doodle, using Photoshop and a Wacom tablet. For my first attempt I think it's ok. I had fun, so it doesn't matter either way.

RELATION"DIP" GOALS

A pair of pizza slices jumping in a Garlic and Herb dip together. It's not the most exciting or best piece of work but...

ITS PRINTED ON A JUMPER.

And this, I am excited about.

A small lucky selection of Dominos customers received a "Love Box" of goodies for Valentine's Day including one of these lovely tshirts.

And who said romance is dead?

THROW BACK THURSDAY

I found some of my old sketches from 2009 which I now am in love with!

So different to the work I do now and yet I love them!

BUBBLY BOOBIES IN JACUZZIS

At work a few weeks ago we were tasked with making GIFs for a client, that represented how the gym makes you feel. I was reminded of a time with my large-boobied friend Clare many years ago. A very relaxed trip to the sauna.

So I illustrated it, and Robbie animated it.

Digital Painting FUN TIMES

I spent an hour learning how to make cool painting brushes in a Photoshop tutorial. Then by the time I had gotten to the "fun" painting bit. I was bored. The tutors accent was driving me mad. So I stopped.

But. I did play with the brushes and made some cute colour paintings for some gorgeous people on the app Sktchy.

I think they look pretty cool.

Dominos - DomiSquad

A set of illustrations for Dominos. To represent the influencers for their brand. Gamers, Event TV and Football.

The Hatch - Logo Design

Just before Christmas I was playing around with a logo design for some friends at work. Still very much a work in progress, but...

The Hatch is all about looking after your creative ideas and, with the help of others, turning them a reality. The concept I came up with was of the penguin, steadfastly caring and cherishing its egg until it hatched.

Inspired by the circle work of Tom Anders I decided to create the whole logo from an egg shape.

Mirror Table Plan for a Wedding

Last month my friends Phil and Hollie got married!

The wedding was amazing (obvs). But I was in charge of creating a table plan. Hollie had seen a few things on Pinterest and like most people she saw a Pin, then had no idea how to make it or buy it.

So she asked me, she knows i'm crafty! And I created her this table plan.

How to decorate Christmas presents like a boss (on a shoe string)

I love wrapping presents ready for Christmas. I plan months in advance the years special theme. This year was mistletoe.

My trademark is Brown Kraft Paper. It's simple, cheap and traditional. I use it every year with simple string and a touch of something magical.

What you need:

- Brown Kraft Paper (available from Hobbycraft, Poundland, Or your local Post Office)

- Sticky Tape

- Scissors

- Twine or string (I like to use metallic thread from Hobbycraft or Lakeland)

- Artificial foliage (I used an IKEA garland on sale for £4, but you can also use real leaves)

- White Pom Poms (from any craft shop)

- PVA glue

- Black tags (these were from Hobbycraft)

- Gold metallic pen

Step 1: Wrap your present in Brown Kraft Paper

Step 2: Turn your present upside down and stick the end of the twine to the back of the present and rotate around the present as many times as you like

Step 3: Weave your leaves into the string

Step 4: Glue on Pom poms using PVA glue

Step 5: Write your tag with the gold metallic pen and attach to the present with twine

That's it. Job done. Merry Christmas!

Characters in an Ad Agency

I have been working alongside a Creative Director to create characters that represent the different departments in an ad agency.

Here's what i've been up to so far.

FORMULA 1 2016 SEASON

I'm currently working on a series of illustrations for Shell and Ferrari for the 2016 Formula 1 Season. The first of the series is live on Social Media now, but there are many more to come.

Here's a cheeky look-see before the whole project gets added to my portfolio.

ICE CREAM YUM TIMES

It's Summer... Finally. After an ice cream fuelled week I felt inspired to create some ice cream illustrations.
